CLOSING DOWN SALE - 10% off everything!

As I am nearing my graduation and will be starting full time work early next year, I will not have time to run this business to a satisfactory standard. I started this business from my bedroom whilst studying to support me throughout my studies, and it has grown well beyond my expectations. I would like to thank the ongoing support of all our customers over the years.

I have decided to go overseas for 2 months before I start the daily grind, so we will be shutting the website and shop down by December. The website may be operating again after January when I return from overseas depending on my workload. Shutting down over the peak Christmas season may seem crazy but I think I deserve a holiday after 7 years of study :)

Use the coupon code: OLD7002U7N to redeem a 10% discount off your order.

BUSNISESS 4 SALE

As mentioned above we will be shutting down shortly, and although I may run the website again after January, for the right price the website is for sale. This is a opurtunity to purchase an already established profitbale, search engine optimised, and ranking online busisness. Make us an offer, you may be suprised! To make an offer or for any questions please call 0439309140 and leave a message.

19/10/09 - New Xbox 360 Wave 4 Games

There is a new format of xbox 360 games begining to emerge termed 'WAVE 4', which won't work on some modded Xbox 360's. It's quite complex and lengthy to explain the particulars so we won't try, for a full explaination check out this post on XboxScene. For how it effects you please read this excerpt taken from XboxScene

"IF you are on iXtreme 1.5 or below, Wave3 games will not boot for you and thus Wave4 games will not either. In this case, YES you need to update your firmware! IF you are on iXtreme 1.51 (Hitachi), then ANY wave will boot fine, including Wave4 however you must be EXTRA careful as you are not protected against corrupt or incorrect video partitions. This is one of the many reasons to always use abgx360(info). If a game is fully verified, playing it on iXtreme 1.51 is just as safe as playing it on iXtreme 1.6 - this includes Wave4 games. IF you are on iXtreme 1.51 (BenQ/LiteOn/Samsung), then YES you need to update your firmware! IF you are on iXtreme 1.6, you can ALSO play Wave 4 and above games, however you need to use a special activation disk to do so. This was added to the firmware specifically for this eventuality - the disk activates "one-shot-boot" mode, essentially it allows iX1.6 to boot any game you insert into the drive, even if its not properly stealthed. You simply insert the disk into the drive, let it spin up (it will say "play DVD"), then swap in your Wave4 game. You will need to do this each time you want to play a Wave 4 (or above) game. Don't worry, if the game has all the necessary stealth data, then iX1.6 will still use it, so if you boot a VERIFIED Wave4 game using this method, you should be just as safe as you were booting a verified wave 3 game.

So what the hell does all that mean? If you find some of the lastest games aren't working you may need to have your firmware updated or you may need this 'activation disc'. So where do you get this 'activation disc' from, well we are not sure if this activation disc is illegal under copyright laws so we can't supply it or link to it but you can find it in the 'usual places'. Please don't ask us for it, we can't and won't provide it.

* = our recommendation
Our recommendations are generally based on value for money. We usually recommend the cheapest modchip unless the more expensive chips offer significantly better features. Generally the cheaper modchips have proven to be just as good as the more expensive ones. We would never recommend an inferior product. In the case of the WODE, the WODE has significantly better features than other 5th gen Wii modchips, being the only one that allows you to plug an external USB drives into the Wii.

12/10/09 - Wii Update 4.2 Blocks Hard Mod Region Free Capability

The Wii 4.2 update has been out for a while now and it is well known that it disabled or previously known soft mods and USB loaders, but it is slowly becoming apparent that it also blocks the region free capability of many hard mods too. We suspect that it blocks the region free capability of all modchips but so far we can confirm that it block the region free capability of the SunkKey modchips, Wasabi modchips, D2Pro modchips & WiiWasp modchips. Just another reason not to update you Wii if you can avoid it.

25/09/09 - SunDisk 8GB and 16GB in stock!

We finally recieved our order of SunDisk 8GB and 16GB today, and I must say I was very impressed by them. The packaging is the best I've seen for any Wii modchip, and their functionality is flawless, delivering all the functions promised by the D2Sun Team. We easly installed it and had it running in under 10min, and as promised it easily rips game ISO's to it's internal memory and plays them back flawlessly. At the moment the SunDisk Wii modchip is the only option for the latest Wii D3-2 drives, with the Wii Fusion still not in the wild yet. With the release of the SunDisk, the D2Sun team have undoubtedly proven that they are at the forefront of Wii Modchip technology and development. The SunDisk is highly recommended by the Supermodchips Team.

25/09/09 - SunDriver and WODE Wii modchips in the works

New SunDriver by the D2Sun Team and WODE (Wii Optical Drive Emulator) by a new development team are in the works. These ground breaking modchips will reportedly allow you to hardmod your Wii to allow you to play ISO's from an attatched external HDD. As news develops we will post it here, and of course will be stocking them at Supermodchips when they are available.

21/09/09 - TTDSi / DSTTi working in FW 1.4

Against all odds the TTDSi have come up with what seems to be some kind of core update that allows the TTDSi to run on FW 1.4. This was completely unexpected, as it was assumed that the TTDSi didn't have an upgradeable core. Just like all the other core updates for other DS flashcards like AceKard and M3i Zero, the core updates are not hosted on the TTDSi website, but you can download them here TTDSi1.4FirmwareFix.rar. Similar to the AceKard 2i you will need a non FW1.4 DSi or DS Lite to apply the upate.

17/09/09 - Wii Modchip Compatibility table updated

With the release of the SunDisk modchip that is compatible with 100% of Wii models including the very latest D3 v2 models we have updated our Wii modchip compatibility tables to reflect this development. It can be said that the SunDisk is actually the first of the 5th Gen. Wii Modchips, but for the sake of keeping our table neat we have put it in the 4th Gen column.

22/08/09 - New 'unmodable' Wii's hit Australia

We have started to see a new breed of 'unmoddable' Wii on Australian shelves this week. They are apparently 'unmoddable' with both Soft an Hard mods. Reports have indicated that the lowest serial number found in these 'unmoddable' Wii's is LAH1162xxxx, Wii's with lower serial numbers will most likely still work with Drivekey/WasabiDX/Sunkey, anything over that number may not be moddable at this point in time.

The Wiikey team is repotedly working on a new Wii modchip 'Wiikey 3' that will be compatible with this new Drive, due out mid september. If your Wii is purchased after August 2009, it is advised to wait until the new Wiikey 3 is out. Watch this space for more info.
